Mission Statement

Tranzistor is focusing on R&D to optimize VFX / CGI pipelines in the audiovisual sector.

The company offers 3 services:

• Pipeline consultancy services for VFX studios.
• Tools for online collaboration and XR content productions offered as a SAAS product.
• A dedicated “plug&play” solution to implement VFX pipelines in small and medium sized studios.

Disruption

Two major trends will lead to radical changes in the VFX/CGI production process during the coming years.

We identify the following trends:

• Artificial intelligence solutions based on machine learning will have a large impact on the production process and the kind of work done by human labor. Smooth collaboration between teams all over the world will become even more important.
• VR (Virtual Reality) / AR (Augmented Reality) / MR (Mixed Reality) together referred to as XR (Extended Reality) demand an entirely new way of creating audiovisual content on one hand and open a world of opportunities to consume and experience content on the other hand.

Tranzistor as a technology incubator will allow companies to become a forerunner in embracing and implementing these evolutions.

Jan Hameeuw

co-founder

Graduated in 1998, he began his career at LCI. In 1999, he was hired by the Headtrick Media group as responsible for the development of internet content accessible via streaming. This experience brings together his main qualities: creativity, management and technological knowledge. In 2001, Jan Hameeuw started his own post-production company, Spinnbackbit. He entrusts the financial and administrative management to Tom Hameeuw. The idea of The Fridge is born there and The Fridge was founded in 2007. During the last 20 years, Jan Hameeuw has acquired a solid knowledge both in terms of technology (workflow, etc.) and on the creative processes of audiovisual and transmedia projects. He has a multidisciplinary background that allows him to manage today the creative and technical aspects of projects and to determine the best strategies.

Tom Hameeuw

co-founder

Tom Hameeuw has been co-director of The Fridge since 2006. He is in charge of finance and operational management since the founding of the company. Since April 2018 Noël Swinnen is in charge of the operational management of The Fridge allowing Tom Hameeuw to focus entirely on the financial side and the development of “new business”. The main focus in business development for 2018-2019 is Tranzistor.
